The shoulder joint is susceptible to injury as it has a shallow socket and requires many muscles, ligaments and tendons to keep it stable. Frozen shoulders are even known in Japan as a menopause symptom. Issues with the group of muscles and tendons that make up the rotator cuff can make this joint vulnerable to injury and general postural problems are leading to shoulder instability. Yoga can help, not just mobilising but strengthening is key to maintaining a healthy shoulder joint.
This workshop is designed to teach you how to safely work and explore the shoulder joint through breath, theory, practice, and visualisation. It is suitable for yoga teachers, students, or those interested in increasing their anatomy and physiology knowledge of this critical joint.
