Kirtan hosted by Derek Elliott

Join us for an end of year celebratory Kirtan led by Derek Elliott. This event is in aid of the The Oxfordshire Christmas Dinner for Care Leavers sponsored by Oxfordshire Youth. All proceeds of the evening will go to the charity and you will have the option to donate either £10, £15 or £20 at checkout. The proceeds of this session will all go to supporting this Christmas project to bring together young adults who have come out of care for a Christmas dinner and presents.

Kirtan is a call and response musical meditation, led by a Kirtan singer. The community gathers together to explore the resonance of the ‘inner voice’, through the pure sound vibrations of Sanskrit chants and mantras. These melodies were originally developed in the ‘bhakti’ culture of the sub-continent. This tradition believes it is the draw of Universal Beauty that is the ‘honey’ in our way of being and that music is a way of connecting with this sweetness. Kirtan is non-denominational and requires no expertise in singing. All are welcome.

Donations: £10-20 Book here (non refundable after booking, being a charity event)
