This event is happening both inside Vishuddha and outside with the land.
At heart and in our bones, we know that our embodied, breathing presence, our movements, happen as part of unfolding patterns of movement within a wider web of ongoing creation. We are neither central to nor apart from Earth’s unfolding story. We are intimately woven into life, by life, as life, moment by moment. This knowing of our deep belonging is instinctive and often deeply buried. Which can lead to feelings of fragmentation, drifting, dislocation, powerlessness, imbalance and soul loss.
The cycle of our day will offer practices inside the beautiful yoga studio and outside with the surrounding land in the weather of the day. We explore layers of our embodied presence in relationship with the life within and around us. We give heartful attention to our inner landscapes and physical body in, and as part of, the places we occupy; the walls of the studio, texture of the floor, play of light, a neighbour’s movement, rumble of train, flow of river, beat of swan’s wing, touch of rain on the skin. Embeddedness brings us into conscious relationship with the rest of nature – our vaster body. Which shapes our world and that simultaneously receives and is shaped by our human presence, moment by moment. Healing our sense of separation.
Meditation in stillness and movement, walking, reflection and sharing, drawing, writing and rest unfold throughout the day. Creating doorways for what is arising, the unknown, the Mystery, unmet layers of ourself, imagination. Through embodied movement explorations in the studio and with the land we enter into awareness of the ecological body. A body-presence experiencing its unfolding self as a changing pattern among other natural, changing, living systems. Offering each person the experience of feeling themselves woven into or belonging to wider, animate, ensouled ecosystems.

About Ally:
Ally began exploring conscious embodiment through yoga and meditation practice in 1997. Yoga became a doorway into somatic movement practice both as an artform and as part of a healing journey. Creating collaborations with the land and other people through Authentic Movement, Butoh, Continuum and Amerta Movement. Our journey into conscious embodiment allows the unique, curious creature that we are to come through, be seen and keep on unfurling.
Ally is an artist, Craniosacral Therapist & Core Process Psychotherapist whose orientation to healing and wellbeing is a Wholearth exploration of being. She offers a year-long, soul wise course for women guided by the Celtic Medicine Wheel of the Year called Woven www.allystott.co.uk and lives by the River in Oxford. Thanks to Sandra Reeve for guiding and mentoring and Therese O’ Driscoll for inspiring the title of this retreat.
